A few years ago I purchased one of Flavell Trading's larger oak trugs and have used it ever since. Wanting a smaller version for my studio, I spoke with the makers about creating a more compact design.

The resulting piece, crafted in blackened oak, immediately resonated with me, due to the surface colours and materials I explore in my own work, particularly my recent charred stone series.
