ABOUT THE WORK

Winter 2019 I became fascinated with the shapes of the dried up Beech leaves that would remain on the trees. When the sun would come out, it would cast these sharp rays of light and the shadows would take on an angular and very graphic shape, completely different to the shapes in the rest of the seasons.

I sometimes paint on scrolls as they are traditional in Asian art for telling stories. I love to draw the continuation of the shadow slowly changing across the scroll.
